Buying heels is great, wearing them often is even better, but maintaining them over time is even better!
- If you don't wear them often, to keep the right shape and size, leave a shoe tree inside.
- If damp, allow to air dry. Never use high heat. You can put newspaper inside to speed up drying.
- Change models often, to air them out.
- If your shoes start to smell, use a suitable spray.
- If the sole looks worn, don't forget your shoemaker.
- A soft brush is ideal for buffing leather. Never spit.
- In winter, coat your new leather shoes with oil or leather wax to protect them from salt.
- If salt is already present on the leather, use a mixture of white vinegar and water and rub in. Once dry, apply leather oil or wax.
- For suede, waterproofing spray replaces oil or wax.
